That Was Cool!!!

Now that was exciting! Yesterday I was Dog of the Day over at dogster.com. I was on the front page of the web site all day long and let me tell you that was COOL!!!

Thank you to all the puppies and people that sent me nice messages and requested me to be pup pals. I haven't got back to all of you yet but I will. There is only so much typing I can do with these little paws of mine.

If you haven't been over to dogster.com hop on over there, sign up and start makin' puppy pals. It's fun and you can meet a lot of cool puppies. They even have a place for all you kitties out there; catster.com.

Stay cool everybody, seriously, it's so hot around here...Bella

It's The Commish Here...

Well the votes are in (actually they were in about a week ago but i was so tired from all the campaigning and then this heatwave hit and I haven't been able to do a single thing) and I'm the new Canine Commissioner!!!

Good news and bad news. The good news is that me and Mommy and Daddy reached our goal of raising at least $1,000 more than we did last year. We raised $2,997 this year. The bad news is that I came in third place. We were a little disappointed but CONGRATULATIONS to Gracie! I know she'll make a great Mayor.

I want to thank each and every one of you for donating to my campaign and helping us reach our goal. It really means a lot to us. I also want to thank Dr. Gary, Lee, Linda and everyone at the Montclair Veterinary Hospital for everything. It was great to be part of a record breaking year for the Montclair Pet and Wildlife Fund.

Talk to you guys soon...Bella aka The Commish

I Read The News Today!!!

Hey everybody!

So I get back from the sleep-over at my puppy parents' house and I'm reading The Montclarion, the local community newspaper, and I find out that I'm neck and neck with Gracie for the title of Pet Mayor. I'm sooooo excited. Once again, we can't thank you enough for voting for me and donating to the Montclair Pet and Wildlife Fund. We're in the home stretch as they announce the winner at 1pm this Sunday, June 15th at the Farmer's Market in Montclair.

Workin' Like a Dog...

How's everybody doing? I realized it's been waaaay too long since my last post. Things have been crackin' around here at Bella HQ. We've been working behind the scenes, takin' it to the streets and pounding the pavement working on the campaign.

The last two Sundays were so busy at the voting booth. We met so many people and puppies and had so much fun. A very nice lady from the Midwest stopped me to take my picture so she could show her family back home. She thought the contest was a great idea.

Last Sunday my Mommy's brother came up and brought his whole family. My cousins, Siobhan, Roisin and Aodhan were the best campaign street team ever. Yelling and screaming "VOTE FOR BELLA, BELLA NEEDS YOUR VOTES!!!". They walked me all over the village to meet the people and gather votes. Somebody was wiped out when they got home...

I'm so excited I'm going to visit my puppy parents Kobe and Alexis for a couple of days. I can't wait to see them and Mari and Robert and Courtney and Ashley and Eric. They are the best. I'm gonna have so much fun.

OK I better get back on the trail. I'll see you at the booth...Bella

I Made The Top 8!!!

How's everybody doing? Time sure slipped away from me out on the campaign trail. We have been going non-stop gathering donations and trying to get me re-elected the Pet Mayor of Montclair. A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS DONATED. I made the top 8 and now it's a race to the finals so we're not out of the woods just yet.

Boy this last week was crazy and the last two days were over the top. Yesterday we spent 4 hours out in the sun up in Montclair campaigning. It sure paid off though. We met a lot of cool people and gathered a lot of votes (you don't even want to know how many tricks I did or how many high-fives I gave...and I loved every minute of it). Towards the end all I wanted to do was lay down in the shade but this little girl wouldn't stop playing with me. What could I do? I mean I am a puppy and I do love to play. We had fun but I was extra tired when I got home and needed a nap BAD.

So while I'm napping Mommy and Daddy leave but only Daddy comes home. What's with that? Turns out Mommy left for Las Vegas for a couple of days. I TOTALLY miss her! I can't wait for her to come home. Don't get me wrong me and Daddy are having a great time but the three of us...we're kinda like the three amigos.

Alright, my little puppy pads are killing me. Talk to you soon...Bella

What A Weekend!!!

Wow that was a crazy one! I am one tired puppy. Mommy and Daddy had me all over the place this weekend. Drive, walk, shop. Drive, walk, shop. Drive, walk, shop. I tell ya I thought it would never end. If that wasn't enough, the parents decided to clean up the backyard and of course I had to stand guard the whole time. By the time we got inside I couldn't even keep my eyes open. Hold on a minute...don't get too comfortable. "What's this? We're going to the grocery store? Does it ever end? You guys are cleaning the house now? Do you even realize what time it is?" I finally went to bed.

Sunday rolls around and Mommy and Daddy are up early and before I know it we're off and running up to Montclair to campaign (remember I'm running for Mayor again this year. Don't for get to vote - link is at the top of the page!!!). We were having Nonni and Nonno over to celebrate Mother's Day and Nonno's birthday which was on Friday so time was limited but we got out there and gathered some votes. When we got home we BBQ'd and had a blast! I even got my own piece of chicken! I Wish Uncle Ronnie, Auntie Amo and Joshua could have been there though.

I gotta tell you the competition for Mayor is TOUGH. I need to get everyone involved. Tell your friends, family and co-workers...PLEASE DONATE TO MY CAMPAIGN. EVERY DONATION IS A VOTE FOR BELLA!!!

Now, where'd I leave Linus?

Help Bella...Help Them!!!

One more thing I wanted to tell you about is that I'm the Pet Mayor of Montclair. Last year was the first year I entered the race...and I won! I couldn't believe it. Me, Mommy and Daddy with the help of friends, family and supporters raised over $1,900. Man, that was a lot of hard work but well worth the effort. You see all the proceeds go to the Montclair Pet & Wildlife Fund. It's a great organization that supports our community by helping pets and wildlife in need and by fostering the peaceful co-existence of humans and animals through education. Plus Gary and Lee Richter and everyone over there are super cool people. You can learn more about them at http://www.petandwildlifefund.org/

So why all the info? Well, I'm running again this year, sponsored once again by Someone's In The Kitchen. We're trying for a repeat and trying to raise even more money. That's where you can help. Each vote costs $1. The "votes" are tax-deductible. You are welcome to vote with as many dollars as you wish. Unlike conventional elections, I encourage you to stuff the ballot box with votes for Me!!!

How can you vote?

If you're in Montclair Village you can vote at Someone's In The Kitchen, Montclair Village Wine, Spirits & Brew or the Montclair Veterinary Hospital. You can send a check (you can contact me at mailto:bellathebeagle@gmail.com) and this year you can even vote online. There's a link at the top of my page that will take you there.

I guess that's it for now. Thanks for all your support. Alright, I'm off to the Linus blanket...Bella
